Yes

Refined Design Interiors, Llc.
Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?
More than twenty years ago, I quit my outside sales job to stay home with my two little boys but found myself a less than perfect stay at home mom. I started hanging wallpaper with a friend as a part time job and customers kept asking me for advice and then taking it with joyful results. I realized that I had a passion for interior design that people understood and appreciated so I started my own firm.

What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?
The economic downturn in the late 1980's kept a lot of potential clients from enlisting the help of a designer and the fact that most design firms become successful by referral clientele.
What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?
Make sure you can take care of yourself financially while you build the business, it can take a couple of years.
What has been your biggest mistake?
Taking on clients dthat raised "red flags" in my mind on the initial consultation.
What has been your smartest move?
Learning to recognize that not every potential client is right for me or my business.
