- I've been a 'crafty' type person since I was a child. I was engaged to my now husband and got together with a bunch of other wives from his work where we made a bracelet and I was hooked on jewelry! I've expanded my skills from basic bead strining to knotting silk to playing with fire and metal.

- Put together a plan and really think about what your goals are. Don't just dive head first into it because you love what you do.

Creating a Brand

One of my biggest challenges is finding a cohesive look, or brand. I like to play with all sorts of mediums because I get easily bored if I do too much of one thing. However, I have found that having 'all sorts of things' on my website makes it look cluttered. My goal is to get a "look" that is recognizeable.

I know what you mean by doing "shows". It does get easier and you do get to meet lots of really nice people and it's great for networking. I have done quite a few shows over the 4 years I have been in business, eventually you learn which ones are good for you and which ones are not. I now have it whittled down to 3-4 shows that I do per year.
