How long have you been in business? (Or when do you plan to open?)
1.5 years at the current business; 25 years in law.
How many employees do you have, if any?
1-5
What is your annual revenue?
I choose not to disclose
Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.
Resolving disputes through consultation, case review, mediation, arbitration and/or trial.
How did you (or plan to) fund your business startup?
personal savings
What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?
Handling the high demand for the business.
What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?
Set a balanced schedule and stick to it rather than forego sleep, exercise, health and family time to help one more customer. The customers will work within the hours you set if they are clear. There is no need to work through the night as if that will make the difference between success and failure.
What has been your biggest mistake?
Not taking enough time off to reflect and improve on business ideas and to replenish and refresh my energy stores.
What has been your smartest move?
Putting aside the aggravation of billing and invoicing and collecting and instead just helping people because they did not know where to go to get a dispute resolved. I am confident I will have a long relationship with those folks and people they know if they need to resolve a dispute in the future.
Are you willing to answer questions from other women business owners about your business?
Yes
