Hi Shelly. My name is Sherri. I live in ALiso Viejo so we are neighbors. My business is Occasion Designing/event planning. I have an associate who is planning something that may be able to incorporate your services in one of the events we're planning. Zumba Instructor
Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?
A friend of mine wanted me to go with her to the Zumba class at the YMCA, but it never fit into our schedule. We decided to buy the DVD's and workout that way. I bought the DVD's and absolutely LOVED the workout and how much fun it was! I started talking with my perosonal trainer and my friend, who both told me to go for it, so here I am! I am absolutely LOVING it!

Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.
Zumba is a fitness program inspired by Latin dance, which uses a variety of styles, including cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, belly dancing, flamenco and calypso. Music selections include both fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body.
Mommy & Me is a this 45 minute class built around basic motor skills and creative movement/dance, all through interactive songs, music, and play! A great way to gain social interaction for both you and your child, while having fun!
How did you (or plan to) fund your business startup?
personal savings
What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?
I have just begun and need to get the word out about my business.
What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?
Jump in feet first! You never know until you try it. Just have fun and use good time management skills. Networking is beneficial as well! The more passion that you have for something, the more that it will be portrayed to others about how well your product/services are.
What has been your biggest mistake?
I was involved in different direct sales companies and spent a lot of time and effort in areas that I should not have. I did not do as well in the direct sales area, so sometimes I second guess myself.
What has been your smartest move?
Just going for it!
