Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?

I didn't want to work for anybody else so while on vacation I thought of all the skills and experience I had. I thought about what I would like to get up and do every morning. How I could incorporate the things I like to do outside of work into a business. I looked at what was hot at the moment and decided that I needed to follow my gut and I launched BostonNightLife.TV!

I worked on the business plan in the summer of 07. I started rounding the troups in September and the BostonNightLife.TV beta launched March 22, 2008.

BostonNightLife.TV provides unique streaming-video guide to metro-Boston nightlife

Boston-area residents and visitors alike have a new tool to review the nightlife scene before stepping out the door. BostonNightLive.TV, produced by Night Life Media, is a unique streaming video website designed to bring metro-Boston nightclubs, restaurants and activities to life through streaming video, blogs, pictures, newsletters and an events calendar. We are also in the process of adding the best and easiest search the web has ever seen. The website, created by Night Life Media CEO/Founder Theresa Rodrigues, launched in March of 2008.

What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?

Giving myself the OK and to just go out there and do it!

What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?

Just do it!

What has been your biggest mistake?

I was trying to do everything and in doing everything, I was getting nothing done. Bring more people on board when you need help.

What has been your smartest move?

I have asked for help. It's funny, people just want to help me and my venture, I have a lot of people volunteering their time in skills into my business and interns are very helpful.
