Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?: After attending UC Irvine in 1999, I saw an opportunity to take my parents' retail perfume business the the next level. I had retail & merchandising experience, industry connections, and I loved working with fragrances!

What is your annual revenue?: $1 million+

Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.: We carry over 900 brands of fragrances, skincare, and beauty goods.

How did you (or plan to) fund your business startup?: friends and family

What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?: I did not have any experience selling online. One of my biggest challenges was to understand how to set up a website and market to my customers.

What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?: Starting your own business requires a lot of patience, energy and faith.
Believe in yourself, your product and/or services. And always give your 110%!

What has been your biggest mistake?: As a business-owner, I often tried to wear too many hats. I've learned to let go of a lot of the responsibilities and entrust in others. Now they are my biggest heros!

What has been your smartest move?: Taking a chance! I don't like passing up opportunities

Welcome to my page! Some of you know me from NAWBO. My company is Perfume Bay ( www.perfumebay.com ) and we are an online retailer of fragrances, cosmetics and beauty goods.

I'm excited to join this new network of women entrepreneurs. I've gained so much inspiration and knowledge from other entrepreneurs -- some of whom belong to this network. I look forward to making new friends and sharing some ideas with you.
