Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?

I was working as a shop at home decorator for 3 major department stores in the Washington DC area back in the 80's. When I had my first child in 1992, I knew I wanted to stay home with her but I also wanted to keep my foot in the door and stay connected in my field. I worked part time for different local companies when she was a baby. I soon decided that the only way to have what I wanted - which was to raise my children and not lose touch with my industry, was to start my own business. I also realized I could make more money this way. So... jill designs was born.
