Sounds great! If there's anything I can do to help you with the preparations for your basement renovation, please let me know. And how about a playground date with the little 'uns before it gets too cold?

Slumber Parties by Maria Elena
Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?

Rockville, MD
If you already have a website, what is the address for your business?
How long have you been in business? (Or when do you plan to open?)
One year, although it has felt like 13!

$25K-$50K
Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.
I provide sexual education and products that allow women to learn in a fun and confidential environment how to enhance and invest in their relationships with themselves and their partners. All products are made of pharmaceutical-grade materials in FDA-approved labs. They range from body lotions to bedroom accessories of which seven come with Limited Lifetime Warranties.
How did you (or plan to) fund your business startup?
Credit cards, personal savings
What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?
Establishing a network and getting women to understand that I do far more than "peddle toys."
What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?
Slumber Parties is a multi-level marketing company that thrives on a network. I can teach you the skills to network, market, sell and grow, so the most important aspect you must bring is a willingness to learn and set goals. Start-up cost is minimal and the potential for growth and immediate income is phenomenal. You are in business for yourself, but you never by yourself.
What has been your biggest mistake?
Not making the most of over 50% of the opportunities that have been presented to me in the past year.
What has been your smartest move?
Selecting Slumber Parties, a woman-owned business, as my parent company. We are number one in the industry and have been for the past seven years. We were just rated as 1,134 in growth by Inc. 5000 and we are the first woman-owned business to get ranked. Plus, Inc. 5000 rated us number 38 in Top Products.
