Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?

I was searching high and low for a birthday invitation for my son's 1st birthday, with no luck!! I wanted something that I could actually have his picture in...with the theme of the birthday...nothing! so i designed my own invitation for his birthday and found myself designing my friend's kid's birthday invitations and my friend's baby shower invitations too....finally, after what seemed like forever, with my background in graphic design and major in advertising, the website for KLI was created!

Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.

We custom design each invitation to your individual theme, with your child's picture in it! Not only for birthday invitations, we design for baby showers, baby announcements, firsts and cards just to say hello! Our baby shower invitations include either a picture of mommy to be, or you can give a first glimpse of your baby to all friends and family by including an ultrasound picture on the baby shower invite!
If you do not need something specially designed for you or do not have any preference, we have a variety of pre-designed invitations for you to choose from...

personal savings, friends and family

What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?

finding a web designer who was affordable and reliable! most of them wasted our time!!

What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?

do it! if you have your mind set on something then with a little bit of hard work, you can do it! is it not easy to just sit home and let your hubbys bring in the money! there are many ways to find something you can do from home!

What has been your biggest mistake?

getting website designers who gave us a "hook up" those guys never finished the site...we waited over one year!

What has been your smartest move?

making this service available to the public!!
