Happy to have you with us, Gretchen. I do some travel writing so I appreciate your enthusiasm for the industry. I hope you find your connection with the women here to be helpful as you grow your business. Ask questions by using our FORUM page. I've found everyone very willing to share their experiences. And please pass the word about this site to other women business owners you know. The INVITE tab at the top of this page makes it easy. Good luck!

Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.
I have a retail travel booking site where anyone can purchase travel or entertainment ticketing at a competetive price. I also sell franchises and help other women start a travel business through word of mouth advertising.
How did you (or plan to) fund your business startup?
personal savings
What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?
It is already off and running!!
What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?
Be sure to have made a committment to yourself! You can win if you just make a committment. Work your business with a purpose and as if it was a job. The hardest thing for most women is letting errands and family sidetrack them from their desire to make income. Get up every day and work as if you had a time clock to push for a job.
What has been your biggest mistake?
Not talking to more people sooner about my company.
What has been your smartest move?
Getting involved with YTB. The company and support is unmatched with anything I have ever seen before.
