On August 21, 2009, Charlene Ierna, Vice President of IERNA's Heating & Cooling attended an Oscar-style, black tie awards ceremony hosted by the Tampa Bay Business Journal; which honored women executives of the Tampa Bay area for their outstanding contributions to their community and their profession. Tampa Attorney Rhea Law and Bridgette Mill, Publisher of the Tampa Bay Business Journal emceed the event announcing winners from each category and finally the overall winner of the 2009 Business Woman of the year.

Charlene was a finalist in the “Entrepreneur category”, which was notably won by Jane Strong, co-founder of Happy feet, and was among 52 other finalists, in 8 categories. About 560 people attended the event held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.
