Kimberley, you found my press release and invited me to join, but the site in the press release was StarVA.com. I'm guessing you've already done press releases?
Here are some suggestions:
- You could start searching for the owners of sites that offer mailing lists to women owned business and see if they offer advertising, this would be very targeted if you can find the right lists.
- If you know your new member value then you could possibly start an affiliate program where a person would get paid for each new member they refer.
- Hold some kind of a contest for members to bring in new members, giving away a prize (maybe paypal cash?)
- Offer a free viral report to be distributed online and lead back to MyWomanOwnedBusiness.com, it would have to be really great quality so that it gets noticed and passed around.
- Find some internet talk radio shows to be a guest on. A great one that has about 1,000 (I think) work at home mom listeners is WAHMtalkradio.com and she allows you to put in requests to be interviewed.
- Article Marketing
- Write great articles and then contact the owners of 'authority sites' to see if they would be interested in having an exclusive article for their site if they would include your link.
I hope that helps and it wasn't too much information. Of course there are so many different things you could do to market I can't post them all here but just thinking in terms of where women business owners spend time should help give you ideas. Marketing online is definitely my passion ;)
I think that it's great that there are women like you to help others (like me) who don't understand all the intricacies of the internet! I am working (just on paper right now) on a new idea for a web-based e-book, so I may be asking you some questions as I get further down the road. Right now I own/operate a day spa in southern california and run my business WOW Factor Cards (which is what I'm representing on this site. I've done a lot of networking for both, so I too enjoy that aspect of business building. L
