Angelice Tyson
Are you currently heading a woman-owned business?
Yes
If you are in business, what is the name of your business?
Gemini Greetings LLC
Where did you get your idea for your business or the business you'd like to start?
I was inspired by my 3 year old twin boys. The retail market, especially brick & mortar stores offering greeting cards and gifts are missing out on the niche market of multiples.
Where is (will) your business located? (City and State)
Baton Rouge, LA
If you already have a website, what is the address for your business?
http://www.geminigreetings.com
How long have you been in business? (Or when do you plan to open?)
Gemini Greetings launched in January 2098.
How many employees do you have, if any?
1-5

Describe your product or service, or the product you plan to introduce to the market.

How did you (or plan to) fund your business startup?
Credit cards, bank financing, grant
What was (is) the biggest hurdle in getting your business off the ground?
Marketing my products and trying to have them placed in businesses for resale.
What would you advise other women interested in starting a similar business?
Do your homework before you launch. Contact business owners who might be willing to share their "start-up" story and give you some tips. There is no reason why you can't pick up some complimentary advise from others who have "been there & done that."
What has been your biggest mistake?
Not getting a large enough loan.
What has been your smartest move?
Utilizing the internet to maximize exposure for my company across the U.S. and beyond.

Who Am I and Why Am I Here?

It was a rare wintry day in south Louisiana, however all I was concerned with was my positive home pregnancy test. After months of trying to get pregnant, my husband and I felt enormously blessed on Christmas Eve to learn we were expecting. At the turn of the year, dark clouds rolled in, as we learned my dad’s brain cancer had returned. It is said that every dark cloud has a silver lining, and ours was that we were expecting two, not just one baby that year. This was a nice distraction especiall… Continue

Hey Hon,
Thanks for the invite! I did see the change on your site...looks great! BTW, for some reason, the strawberry shakes were listing as "out of stock" on my site...I only caught it because that's how they listed on yours. FYI, they are never out of stock. I've fixed the problem now and wanted to let you know :-) Also, took the pics of the lemon breeze today, so I'll upload them tomorrow and send them onto you!

Absolutely! I'd love to contribute.

Thank you for your kind words. I just need to reach the next level of getting retailers to buy into the idea and educate them on the consistent rise of multiples across the country and that they are truly missing out on revenue that is real and available to them.

I am chief content officer at a media company that publishes a family magazine. I'd be happy to share your idea with her for possible inclusion. As part of my duties, I also am in charge of all of our websites, including ocfamily.com. When you upload some photos of your work, I'll take a closer look. I might be able give you some exposure on our moms network ( http://moms.ocfamily.com )
